TIMES OF SILENCES

2:16, Video HD, color, silent, 2021

Times of Silences presents reminiscences of time-spaces the artist finds in her archive. Four fragments of everyday scenes that seem to meditate on themselves intertwine in the video with the black screen. Inspired by the Japanese concept of "MA", the piece invites an experience of silence, albeit brief during the pandemics - a time of mourning and suspension.

The video performance by the pool is a fragment of an everyday scene. The body is still as a sculpture contemplating the water's surface, which reminds us of the image of Narcissus. But this female body sees its reflection relating to another, that of cosmic beauty, whose poetry of time the water reflects in its condition of surface and canvas.

An archaeological collection of taboo images of the body and sex on screen, this videographic essay brings a selection of art, erotic, and pornographic films and performative voice-over narration, reflecting on the contextual modes of production and reception that influence our experience of those images. It comprises a first fragment of a desired future essay.

HOW TO MAKE THE WORLD FIT INTO TWO LITTLE BOXES

05:06, video HD, color with sound, 2021

This how-to video shows a recipe for dividing the world into two - and it is so simple. One must separate things and leave whatever does not fit outside. Those kids' objects, such as the terrestrial globe and the yellow duck, may allude to emblems in the recent Brazilian political culture. Beyond national contexts, the video is a playful visual display of what is there of infantile in the desire to frame the world in two poles.
